you should read this

Raquel (a lily among thorns) wrote this post on Friday and it has just spoke to me tremendously. Sometimes I think a lot of Christians (including myself) are being blind, and 'asleep' as Raquel puts it. I wanted to show you what she wrote, and then think of what it means to you.

"I strongly believe that we are living in the end times, we need to have a holy urgency for people's salvation. My prayer is that the hearts of those who know the truth (myself included) would be consumed in God's sacred kingdom business of reaching the lost. My heart is burdened, heavy ladden, torn and moved with compassion for people. There are people hurting, misguided, confused, lost, drugged, abused, lonely, unloved, rejected, mistreated, unhealthy, decieved who need us to love them and share with them hope of Jesus. If we don't do it, who will? Witnessing as we call it is not an event we do Saturday nights, it is a lifestyle.

I have to confess that I am tired of hearing people say that the laborers are few. When I hear Christians say or pray this, it’s like the wrath of God comes upon me. What if the problem isn’t necessarily the amount of laborers but that the laborers aren’t laboring? People, if we are the body of Christ why aren't His arms reaching, why aren't His hands healing, why aren't His words teaching, why aren't His feet going, why is His love not showing them there is a way. Could you imagine how many souls would be HEaven bound if everyone who declares to be a follower of Jesus Christ actually went out and preached the Gospel, helped someone in need and reached out and loved someone!? We shouldn’t be idle Christians, mediocre and asleep. Wake up! The Lord is at hand! I am trusting and believing that God has set apart our generation for this great and mighty work."
