A beautiful freedom...

Free is what we are. Everyday we have the option pretty much to do what we want.

~We can wear what we want.
~We can say whatever we want
~We can watch, read, & listen to what we want.

But what about choosing to wear God honoring clothes.
What about choosing to talk in a God honoring way? Not speaking with ugly, gross, improper language. Not tearing others down with our words. Not voicing our complaints.
What about making a choice. Choosing to only watch things honoring to God. Reading things that are not opposite of what God would want. Not listening to certain songs or gossip but filling our minds with holy things.

I'm sure some people envision such a life as boring/sad/uneventful etc. I want to look at the bigger picture though - this kind of life (the Christian life) is no such thing! It's really not even about rules & such. Yes, those things are of importance. Without the "thou shalt not lie" s & "honor your parents" s, our lives would be a wreck. Think for a minute - If God completely took away all His commands, we would be miserable. If I was dishonoring to Mom, or lied all the time, or killed people - what a sad life that would be. Now, that's what I call uneventful. What's even sadder is that there really are people like that in the world.

Good News!
That is not the life we were called to live at all! He gives us commands for a good thing, & when they are followed, they make life such a sweet thing! We're free! Free, free, free! In everyday life I see plenty of beautiful things I see freedom in. The few things stated above are some of them. And from now on, I want to choose to do the right thing in my freedom. I am new to all this! You may or may not be, too, but we're in this together! Growing & learning at the same time. Hard? You bettcha!

Freedom!
On a great blog called Wonderfully Made, Allie challenges me on what freedom really looks like in my life. And I want you to know them!:
~Going out in public w/o makeup & lovin' it.
~Smiling my brightest smile no matter the color or shape of my teeth (haha!)
~Singing at the top of my lungs even though it hurts.
~Lifting my hands in worship to God.
~Letting my hair down and feeling the breeze tickle each strand (and feeling absolutely beautiful while doing it).
~Walking barefoot alongside the oceans shore and getting sprinkled with salty mist.~Embracing my femininity

Okay - think! What is freedom for you? I feel it so freeing to be a woman. It's amazing.

And the guys? They were made with a masculinity that girls find beautiful in a guy who embraces it. I love seeing godly young men in love with Christ. Not afraid to lift their hands, to pray, to be...different. And when they treat a girl like a princess! Oh, joy! I am smiling right now!
Their free to use dirty language - to view girls as objects - to be rude & gross. But when a Man of God chooses God's way, it allows both men & women to freely view each other in a beautiful way.
