Chocolate: your best friend or your worst nightmare.

I have a really funny story for you, but it might not be funny in your mind because, well, you weren't there. But oh how I wish you were!
So, me & my mom are trying to cut out sugar from our diet. We went to Whole Foods today for groceries. She hadn't had chocolate in a long long time. But I haven't either because I don't usually eat it.
- Now just think how much sugar she hasn't had in about a week. -
So we got to the chocolate area. And BAM! You should have seen her face. So we're over here reading labels.

-Ferrero Rocher - Sugars 10g
-Toffee & Almonds in Milk Chocolate - Sugars 13g

So we were on the look out for Sugars 0g chocolate. Not easy. I couldn't help but admit, "I want all this chocolate! And I don't even eat it!" to my Mom who laughed the whole time. Ah, I love her laugh.

Okay, back to the story. So, we finally found Ghirardelli [unsweetened]- no-grams-of-sugar-chocolate. Yay.

So getting to the car, & squealing about how excited we were getting to eat our beloved chocolate, we loaded our things, & settled in our seats.

"Open the package!"
"I'm so excited!"

So we open it. "It's like opening a Wonka bar!"

Mom breaks off a peace, & we "oooo" & "awww"at the the sound of hard breaking chocolate. "I cannot WAIT for this!" And I really couldn't. This was just too much fun.

We each had a square in our hands, & were all giggly. Of course we just had to add in, "Watch it be gross."
We looked at each other and then repeated the lovely phrase, "On three..."
What. were. we. thinking.

I think you know where this is going.

Before I go any further: DO. NOT. BUY. UNSWEETENED. CHOCOLATE & expect it to be a sweet yummy treat.

I should have known.
Yes, twas an interesting day indeed.

Haha this made me laugh SO hard! :D

It really stinks that the chocolate wasn't good, though. :( You guys are brave--cutting out all sugar. I couldn't do it. :)

I'm so glad I read this post... it gave me the smile I really needed today. :) (ok, the laugh/snort.) But smile sounds a lot more ladylike. ;)

Ha Ha! That's funny and sad at the same time. I've tried unsweetened chocolate before. It tastes horrible! :-P

I don't know how you are not eating chocolate!

I love chocolate.

(Unfortunately so much chocolate has milk in it. So I've been cutting back.)

I hope you can find something that will satisfy your sweet tooth!

Blessings,
Leah

Ain't that the truth. The taste of unsweetened chocolate leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Now you have learned a very important lesson. Never eat unsweetened chocolate.

In Christ,
Joshua :)

Made me smile! I don't know that I could ever give up chocolate... I've been trying to only eat it on Friday's, though. Was going great, until this past week. I'm going to start again next week, though. :)

Haha!! That was so funny =)

I've tried this giving up sugar business too. It always reminds me of the guy who said, "It's easy to give up smoking. I do it all the time." That's me with chocolate.
